The rest of the talk is about alternative energy, power sources for the future, and how to run a good development program. And what does he know about Bussard Fusion Reactors? Not much. He is looking into it.

To be fair, in February 2007 no one could be expected to know that much about Bussard Fusion. It had just broken a couple months before.
I dare say we still don't know enough to take a position on its viability.
