It is possible that NIF in California will have achieved laser fusion on a one-shot basis by that date, and that the international HiPER Project will be working on taking the knowledge forward to develop the technologies needed to run a laser fusion plant on a continuous basis and at an industrial scale of power output.<br />.. and then there's Polywell Fusion.
